Somaliland President Inaugurates Road Project Amid Strong Support from Sheikh Community During Eastern Region Tour
The President of the Republic of Somaliland, His Excellency Muse Bihi Abdi, was met with an enthusiastic reception during his visit to the Sheikh district as part of a broader tour of Somaliland’s eastern regions. The President, accompanied by a delegation of government officials, was greeted on the western outskirts of the city by local leaders, cultural figures, and the general public, who displayed the national flag and ceremonial greenery in celebration.
As President Bihi walked through the city center, residents gathered to express their support for his leadership and government. The Sheikh district, known for its cultural heritage and strategic location, played host to a public forum where community leaders, including the Sahil regional committee and local politicians, voiced their support for the President’s policies and initiatives.
During the forum, Dr. Saad Ali Shire, the Minister of Finance Development, commended the Sheikh community for their warm welcome and reiterated the government’s commitment to the region’s development.
In his address, President Bihi expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming support and emphasized the importance of making informed decisions in the upcoming elections, urging the community to choose leaders who will protect and advance the nation’s interests.
The visit concluded with the President officially inaugurating a newly constructed 2-kilometer road within the city. This infrastructure project is expected to significantly improve transportation and connectivity for the residents of Sheikh, underscoring the government’s dedication to regional development.
President Bihi’s visit to Sheikh highlights the strong relationship between the Somaliland government and the local communities, as well as the ongoing efforts to enhance infrastructure and governance across the country.
