Somaliland’s Minister of Investment meets Russian trade officials to enhance economic cooperation and boost industrial production.
Somaliland is expanding its global investment network, with high-level discussions taking place between Minister of Investment and Industry Syed Mohamed and the Russian Trade Association in Africa (Afriocom Trading), led by Chairman Igor Morozov. The meeting, which included Director General Abdifatah Ismail Duale, focused on strengthening Somaliland’s role as a strategic industrial and trade hub in the Horn of Africa.
Both sides agreed to prioritize key investment sectors:
Food Security – Developing agricultural production and food processing industries.
Industrialization – Investing in manufacturing and value-added sectors.
Infrastructure & Logistics – Strengthening export channels for regional and international trade.
With Berbera’s port emerging as a critical gateway for African trade, Russian investors see Somaliland as a strategic partner for expanding economic ties across the continent. This partnership could mark the beginning of a new economic alliance, with Somaliland positioning itself as a major player in industrial production and global commerce.
