Saleebaan, emboldened by his position, usurped the authority traditionally held by the Arap Sultan, demanding that candidates submit their CVs directly to him. This flagrant disregard for established protocol left the Arap tribe bewildered and vulnerable, as they unwittingly complied with Saleebaan’s dictates.
Behind closed doors, Hirsi and Saleebaan conspired to install their chosen candidate within the Somaliland National Commission, laying the groundwork for their vested interests to flourish. As the Arap tribe grappled with fatigue and confusion, Hirsi’s maneuverings bore fruit, propelling Abdulkadir Iiman Warsame into a position of power.
However, fate had other plans in store. Hirsi’s political allegiances shifted, leaving his erstwhile protégé vulnerable to the vicissitudes of political fortune. Abdulkadir found himself caught in the crossfire of political intrigue, a pawn in the game of power played by his erstwhile benefactors.
